A Letter from Deborah Leigh-Russell

Welcome to a Special Gift ~ a sharing of some of the Journey that I have experienced and lived through in my life of 'wonder’ so far ~ the highs, the lows and the in-betweens.

Each song, each instrument and even the way the voice has been expressed, has been chosen or written or felt for its impact on me and within me! In my experiences of others, the theme of Hope, of Love, of Joy is paramount for survival.

Like colours and textures paint a picture, colours and textures of sound paint a story ~ and this, my first album, reflects my story ~ and perhaps for some or more of you ~ a little of yours.

The words, the organic and indigenous sound, and the somewhat global sound also offer and influence a personal vision I hold very close to my heart ~ that of a World here on our Earth, within this Universe, where we come to the realization ‘We Are All One!’

The orchestral sounds weave together as fine tapestry, like the gorgeous coloured sands in a vessel ~ in sync with each other ~ celebrating our unique offerings and wonderful diversities and beauty of culture, colour and language.   The sounds resonate as many orchestral colours ~ creating a Symphony of Wonder and Delight ~ A Symphony of Universal Love ~ that is upheld and honoured.

In this World of Universal Love no child will be left to hunger and thirst for food, drink, shelter and nurturing relationships. And so with compassion, space and concern ~ be careful, respectful, use insight and hugs and imagine Our World ~ Your World, here on this, Our Beloved Earth, where all have the opportunity to truly experience and live in real Hope, real Love, and real Joy ~ Honouring and Respecting each other for Our Special Gifts. ..

Creator of ‘SOUL ~ Symphony Of Universal Love’

All of the music arrangements were inspired and created from the heart; through listening to the melody of the voice and the power and energy behind the words, the chords and rhythms that came alive.

The musicians were asked to truly 'feel and hear’, and not use any composed or written notes. 'Trust in one-self to deliver', was an exciting journey and a thrilling one at that!

*PJ ~ Patrick John Creamer, guitar, percussion and engineer ~ brought my vision together with his incredible spirit of 'okay', not to mention exceptional talent as a musician

*Saraya Beric Violin - Saraya produced melodies and rhythms that stretched her extraordinary ability to heights she thought were not possible for one who was dependent on written works. Her passion and glorious sound has added so much beauty.

*Melanie Creamer and her mandolin brought a highlight of magical feelings, warmth and exuberance.

*Paddy Finn and his harmonica.  At only six years of age Paddy gave such a gift of the innocence of youth and vibrancy with his harmonica and vocal comments.

*Walter Smith ~ 'Silver Wolf'', Shaman Sacred Drum, Native American Indian Flute, Rattles and Chanting. The beauty of Spirit shared by Silver Wolf on this recording is inspiring and uplifting.

*Bunna Lawrie with his Didgeridoo.  Bunna shares his awesome gift of didgeridoo playing, which I endearingly describe as the 'indigenous trumpet'.

*Sean McGurgan and his equally brilliant warmth with the Didgeridoo .

‘SOUL ~ Symphony of Universal Love’ ~ the album, was created from the Magic of the Moments.  It was born from giving, patience and love.
